Rebecca Buxton Petho

Senior Consultant

Rebecca Buxton Petho brings to Accordant more than a dozen years of executive leadership and philanthropy experience spanning across the nonprofit sector. As Senior Consultant, Rebecca collaborates with mission-focused board members and executive leaders through Accordant’s comprehensive BoardAdvance program. She leverages her academic knowledge and practical understanding to guide volunteer and executive leaders in achieving philanthropic and mission-driven success.

 

Rebecca began her career in fund development with a nationally ranked performing arts organization where she gained skills and understanding in annual giving, volunteer leadership management and individual gift solicitation. From there she continued to graduate school at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. While in graduate school, Rebecca served as Executive Director for a health care-focused nonprofit where she instituted the organization’s first strategic plan and established a philanthropic governing board. In her most recent role at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Rebecca played a key part in securing principal and major gifts that supported several clinical service lines and institutional priorities, while also working closely with the Chief Development Officer on strategic initiatives for the philanthropy team.

 

Rebecca holds a Master of Arts in philanthropic studies and a certificate in nonprofit management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy as well as a bachelor’s degree in music from West Virginia University.
