Rooted in more than 20 years of consulting experience focused on campaign assessment, planning and management; development program assessments and planned giving counsel, John Donovan brings considerable depth and perspective to health care organizations. His specialties include guiding organizations through the identification and engagement of their major gift donors and top prospects, coaching development and executive leadership, as well as implementing wave campaign techniques for more impactful engagement.

Before joining Accordant, John was a principal of a long-standing consulting firm which he later sold. He also served as a senior vice president with a leading national philanthropic consulting firm. While working for a planned gift asset management and administration firm, John guided organizations through complex gift planning and investment strategies, trained development teams on planned giving concepts and helped donors and their advisers on charitable giving techniques. His philanthropic consulting services have assisted a wide variety of health care institutions including multi-hospital systems, regional medical centers, rural hospitals, hospices and home health organizations.

John is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a past executive board member of a regional planned giving association. He is on the regional board for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) and is a frequent presenter at national and regional conferences. He received his degree in Economics from Villanova University.
